The Riverside Mozart sailing a European river
Ultra-Luxury River Line

Riverside Luxury Cruises

The most spacious suites on the river, aboard ships reborn from the celebrated Crystal fleet.

The line

Ultra-luxury river cruising, reborn

Riverside Luxury Cruises brings a boutique-hotel sensibility to Europe’s great rivers. The line was built around the former Crystal river ships, widely regarded as some of the finest ever launched, and relaunched them under the German hospitality group Seaside Collection, founded by Gregor Gerlach.

The result is a small, all-suite fleet with generous space, gracious service and genuinely accomplished cuisine. The flagship Riverside Mozart is nearly twice the width of a standard river ship, and the intimate 106-guest Riverside Ravel and Riverside Debussy carry that same sense of calm, uncrowded luxury along the Danube, the Rhine and beyond.

In a word

Few river ships give you this much room to breathe, and fewer still do it with this kind of quiet, hotel-grade polish.

The most spacious suites on the river

Every accommodation is a suite, and they are among the largest afloat on a river. The flagship Riverside Mozart is built extra wide, close to double a normal river ship, which gives its suites, lounges and public rooms a sense of space that river cruising rarely offers.

The 106-guest Riverside Ravel and Riverside Debussy are more intimate but no less refined, and two more ships, Riverside Bach and Riverside Mahler, join the fleet in 2027 and 2028.

Dining that belongs in a grand hotel

Riverside inherited the culinary reputation of the Crystal river ships and has kept it. Expect multiple dining venues, regional wines poured freely and menus that lean into the produce and traditions of the rivers you are sailing.

Fares are effectively all-inclusive, with beverages, gratuities, wifi and a program of shore experiences built in, so the day unfolds without a running tab.

Along Europe’s great rivers

The Riverside Mozart sails the Danube through Austria, Hungary, Slovakia and Germany, calling at storied stops such as Melk, Vienna and Budapest. The 106-guest ships range more widely across the Rhine, Main, Moselle and other European waterways.

Because the ships are small and dock in the heart of each town, the walk from your suite to a historic old town is usually a short one. We help you match the right ship and river to the trip you have in mind.

Frequently asked questions

What is Riverside Luxury Cruises known for?

Riverside is known for ultra-luxury European river cruising aboard the former Crystal river ships. Highlights include unusually spacious all-suite accommodations, refined multi-venue dining, all-inclusive fares and the extra-wide flagship Riverside Mozart, which offers some of the most generous space on any river ship.

Are these really the former Crystal river ships?

Yes. When Crystal ceased operating, its river ships were acquired and relaunched under Riverside Luxury Cruises, part of the German hospitality group Seaside Collection. The ships were widely admired when they sailed as Crystal, and Riverside has kept that standard.

How many ships does Riverside have?

In 2026 Riverside operates three ships: the 150-guest Riverside Mozart and the 106-guest Riverside Ravel and Riverside Debussy. Two more former Crystal ships, to be named Riverside Bach and Riverside Mahler, are due to join the fleet in 2027 and 2028.

What is included in a Riverside fare?

Riverside fares are largely all-inclusive. That typically covers dining across the ship, beverages including wines and spirits, gratuities, wifi and a program of shore experiences. Exact inclusions vary by voyage, which is one thing we confirm for you before you book.

Which rivers does Riverside sail?

The extra-wide Riverside Mozart sails the Danube through Austria, Hungary, Slovakia and Germany. The smaller 106-guest ships range more widely across the Rhine, Main, Moselle and other European waterways.

Who is Riverside for?

Riverside suits travelers who want the space, service and cuisine of a fine boutique hotel while gliding between European towns. It appeals to guests who value calm, uncrowded luxury and being able to step from a spacious suite into the center of a historic city.

How much does a Riverside cruise cost?

Fares vary by ship, suite category, season and length, and because so much is included the headline number is not directly comparable to a mainstream river fare. Rather than quote a misleading range, we price your specific voyage and secure the best available CDV value. Request a complimentary quote and we will lay out the real numbers.
